New York City 1972, 1972

Family honor, modern money, and the cost of loyalty.

New York City, 1972. Three Italian-American crime families compete for money, territory and influence: the traditional Armelli family, the aggressive Bellano family, and the politically connected Rizzi family. Each family has a Boss, Underboss, Consigliere and five Capos, with only a few soldiers under each Capo. The old Mafia generation values loyalty and tradition, while younger members want greater wealth and new criminal opportunities. Gambling, unions, construction, restaurants, trucking, nightlife and narcotics create growing tensions. You are Vinnie Arca, 24, a recently initiated soldier under Capo Johnny Morretti, your closest friend and mentor. Stylish and charismatic, you live by your wits and your words, but every deal and every favor pulls you deeper into a web of ambition, betrayal, and violence.

Stylish and charismatic, you live by your wits and your words, but every deal and every favor pulls you deeper into a web of ambition, betrayal, and violence. Spring 1972: the city is humming with construction, the docks are busy, and the FBI is starting to poke around. Your reputation as a smooth talker and a reliable earner has already caught the attention of the higher-ups—and the envy of a few peers. But with every favor you collect, a debt comes due.

Johnny Morretti's crew needs to increase its earnings before the quarterly sit-down, and he's counting on you to find new opportunities in construction and nightlife.

A young, ambitious associate named Tony 'The Nose' Ferrara is trying to prove himself by moving in on your territory—he's got connections to the Bellanos, and he's not afraid to cause trouble.

Your childhood friend Maria, who now works at a midtown club, has overheard a conversation that could implicate a high-ranking Armelli capo in a federal investigation. She trusts you, but she's scared.

The Rizzis are putting pressure on the city to award a major contract to a non-union construction firm, which could undercut the Armelli-backed union. Someone needs to persuade a city councilman to see things differently.
