World premise
A playable world seed with consequences.
You are 18 years old, living in the Bay Area of California, still living with your parents in Fremont. It's summer and you just graduated from high school in June, a week ago. You decided to take a year off before starting college next year. What will you do in this year? The opening weeks begin in a dense urban quarter, where the dry heat of June settles over Fremont like a blanket. Your parents are retired and live on a limited income—your father's pension and your mother's small freelance accounting jobs. They've made it clear they won't charge you rent or expenses, but they also can't support you beyond the basics. Money is tight at home; you have $80 saved from graduation gifts, enough for bus fare, food, and a few weeks of breathing room, but not much more. Around you, the neighborhood hums with activity—the constant whoosh of traffic on Mission Boulevard, the clatter of BART trains overhead, the murmur of neighbors on porches. Everyone seems to have an opinion about what you should do, and every corner holds a possibility, a risk, or a dead end. The summer stretches ahead, open and daunting.
Rising hardship is tightening daily margins across Fremont.
Local politics pressures are reshaping who can take risks and who cannot.
Authority, rumor, and household expectation are all moving faster than comfort allows.
Most openings depend on local trust, timing, and somebody else's favor.
