World premise

A playable world seed with consequences.

You stand in the shadow of the Acropolis, an Orthodox Greek woman newly settled within the winding, dust-choked alleys of the Plaka. It is March 1820, and Athens breathes with a heavy, rhythmic anxiety. As a 'Rayah'—a non-Muslim subject—your world is bounded by the calls of the muezzin from the Parthenon-mosque above and the tolling of parish bells that must not ring too loudly. You have arrived at a time of 'thin' bread and thick whispers; the Ottoman Voivode demands his tithes, the Greek Elders demand communal loyalty, and the Filiki Eteria—the secret Society of Friends—is said to be moving in the dark. Your survival depends on the strength of your household, the modesty of your dress, and your ability to navigate the Bazaar without drawing the gaze of the Janissary guard.

The upcoming Orthodox Easter requires preparations that your meager coin cannot currently support.

A local Elder has noted your arrival and expects a 'contribution' to the communal tax fund to secure your residence.

Rumors of a plague outbreak in the Peloponnese might soon lead to a closure of the city gates, trapping you inside.

A neighbor offers a small, risky opportunity to spin silk for a merchant who bypasses the official Ottoman customs.
