World premise
A playable world seed with consequences.
The March air off the Androscoggin River is a wet, biting cold that clings to the soot-stained nylon and salvaged tarp-shanties of the Auburn tracks. Here, on the muddy fringes of the CSX rail line, the 2026 economic slump has reached its terminal velocity. You stand in 'The Hollow,' a depression by the embankment where the ground is a slurry of melting snow, trash, and discarded orange caps. To the south, the city lights of Auburn offer a mocking glow of stability; to the north, the rails stretch toward Lewiston, haunted by the 'Safe City' cruisers. The local task force has been increasing their raids, and the scent of 'Zaza'—the gas-station heroin that has gutted the camp—hangs heavy in the damp air. Survival here is a brutal calculation of managing your supply, avoiding the handcuffs, and staying breathing in a city that has decided you no longer exist.
A heavy spring rain is turning the camp into a swamp, threatening to wash out the lower tents in The Hollow.
The Gas-Station Syndicate is looking for new 'runners' to move tianeptine past the police checkpoints.
Track Mutual Aid is desperately searching for a hidden stash of Narcan after the last police raid confiscated their supplies.
A local developer has been spotted near the tracks with an armed security detail, surveying the land for a new 'Riverside' apartment complex.
